ABOUT THE DESIGNER + art director

Michelle Silver has 14 years of experience creating thoughtful and engaging design. She is an accomplished branding designer and art director, developing visual identities for a wide range of clientele from large corporate brands to startups and brick and mortar businesses. She works closely with her clients to fully understand brand conflicts and goals, and guides them from the early stages of brainstorming through the implementation of a cohesive and unique identity across digital, print and 360 marketing campaigns. Her background in advertising and fine art have facilitated a well-rounded approach to design: clean consumer-driven design with a funky, illustrative touch.

Silver grew up on the edge of the Catskill mountains in New York and spent her early adulthood in a vibrant art community in Boston, where she graduated magna cum laude from Boston University in 2009. She then moved to Brooklyn, where she surrounded herself with inspiration, collaborated with amazing clients and creatives, developed her design voice, joined a band, and painted obsessively. Desiring a peaceful place to create and raise her family, she moved to a woodsy home on the side of a mountain in the lower Hudson Valley, NY in 2019. Silver currently co-owns a combined art gallery and tattoo studio in Beacon, NY called Distortion Society with her tattoo artist husband Bradley Silver, in addition to managing her own design and painting studio.
